Yes. Helix Diagnostix runs testing seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Most laboratories run Monday to Friday, which is why a Friday collection becomes a Monday result elsewhere. Our instruments do not stop, so a weekend admission does not wait until Monday for a result. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern, but critical values are called any day and any hour.

A specimen collected by five in the afternoon is accessioned the following morning, so a program two time zones away is on the same twenty-four hour clock as one down the street.

Screening uses enzyme immunoassay to indicate whether a class of substance is present. Definitive testing uses liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry to identify and quantify a specific analyte. Helix performs both in house: forty-two screening analytes and sixty-eight definitive assays on a SCIEX triple quadrupole, including fentanyl and its analogs, buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine, and EtG and EtS.

Yes. Our definitive LC-MS/MS menu includes fentanyl, norfentanyl, carfentanil and norcarfentanil, alongside the wider opioid and opiate analog panel. Confirmation is performed on a SCIEX triple quadrupole and reviewed by a licensed medical technologist before release.

We are interfaced with Kipu, Sunwave, Alleva, BestNotes and Ritten. HL7 and custom builds are available for other platforms, and a secure web portal with secure fax is standard for every account. Results route into the patient record automatically, so there are no PDFs to shuffle and no manual entry.

We send the service agreement and BAA, you provide your NPI, license and payer information, and a dedicated account manager builds a custom requisition around the tests you actually order. We then open your account in the LIS, arrange shipping or courier logistics, interface to your EMR, and train your team before go live.

Helix Diagnostix holds CLIA certificate number 10D2200091 as a high complexity clinical laboratory, federally licensed under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments, and is accredited by the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation under COLA laboratory ID 30614. Our laboratory director is Dr. Etan Marks, an AP/CP board certified pathologist. Proficiency testing records are available on request.

We accept walk-in appointments for individuals who need laboratory testing without going through a provider. Appointments can be booked online, or you can contact the laboratory and we will explain what is available.

3745 Park Central Blvd N, Pompano Beach, Florida 33064, in Broward County. All testing is performed in that building. Nothing is sent to a reference laboratory, which is a large part of why turnaround is what it is. Providers are welcome to see the floor or arrange a visit.
